Be picked up from any of the tourist hotels in Fortuna. We take them to the stable where the journey begins. This tour is approximately 1 hour, where you see a great variety of flora and fauna, plus spent three natural rivers, our guides will explain what is going to see during the trip. About 300 meters before reaching the waterfall stop the horses and undertake a short hike to the waterfall where they have about 1 hour to swim in the refreshing waters, take pictures or simply enjoy the peace and quiet to live there. After that we return that lasts about 1 hour.

Excellent! - Wonderful guide - Very well cared for horses - Very safe beginner or experienced

We had a wonderful ride to the waterfalls and could not have asked for a better experience! We were a bit worried after reading some of the reviews, and the only explanation we... read more

Overall average tour. A bit pricy in my opinion... - The horses seemed pretty grumpy when I went on the tour. In fact one horse was biting other horses that got too close and it bit my knee!! Luckily it was a minor cut and little bleeding. Still hurt though :( - I was surprised that there were no safety... More

We had a wonderful ride to the waterfalls and could not have asked for a better experience! We were a bit worried after reading some of the reviews, and the only explanation we can come up with is we did a private tour - two of us plus our guide. If this is an activity you want to experience in... More

We set up this horseback ride through a friend of our AirBnb host, and read the trip advisor reviews on our drive to the horse stables. We were a bit weary after reading some not so favorable reviews, but as you'll see we were very glad we stuck with it and used Chaves Tours. Our drive took a bit longer... More

It's taken me a while to do this review. I was so angry I needed to distance myself for a while. Here are the facts THE GENERAL SET UP - Our horseback riding tour was booked through our hotel (Hotel Royal Corin) - This tour claims it is the only gov't sanctioned stable so we thought the horses would be... The horses on my visit were in reasonably good condition but the bosal bitless bridles were fitted way to low and tight which would be very uncomfortable especially if ridden by beginners. The actual trek is pleasant and the waterfall wonderful. The horses were sound and knew their job. We all mounted from the ground which is not comfortable for... More

The ride was very beautiful and the waterfall swim was great (worth the climb back up). The guides were also great, new how to cater to both experience and novice riders. Only downside was that the horses seemed a bit underfed and tired, but maybe they were just old.

We arrived at the barn and were greater warmly. The horses were very well trained and easy to ride as someone like myself who has little to no experience on a horse. The horse ride takes you through a couple of rivers, some pastures and even a bit of the forest. The guides do not explain much on the ride... More

My family of 5 (12, 13 & 17) booked this trip through our hotel and decided to drive ourselves since we had a car. It took us an hour to find the correct spot since there's no sign! Once we found it though, it was a fun afternoon. My husband was annoyed by the time we pulled in because it... More
