You are going to need long pants, good shoes, a bathing suit and towel,

along with anything else you feel necessary. At the end of the tour we will be at our house waiting with a delicious organic chicken barbecue with natural juice

We were in Areanl and thought this was the best way to see the La Fortuna waterfalls. It was a great experience Phillip our guide and his family took great care of us. Only one of the 4 of us had riden horses before they made us feel very comfortable. The horse's were easy to ride and really didn't need... More

I loved this tour for so many reasons: our lovely guide Alberto, the amazing things we visited (river, waterfall, fields and local life), the refreshments (coconut on horse back!, water mid ride when we really needed it and a delicious lunch back at the stables), but above all the freedom and flexibility he gave us. My fiancée had only ridden... More

Alberto took us on fun trip to the La Fortuna waterfall and back. A lot of the trip was up and down a steep road but some of the back country riding through streams and the forest was a great experience. The horses were well behaved, but certainly not "tired" like we have found at some locations. Alberto was not... More

Alberto is very chill and great to give a tour of the area around the farm, through the jungle, across a creek, in a crevice and up to the fruit stand for some fresh coconut juice! He lets you run the horses openly! Our family had a blast, although I would recommend to wear jeans, no matter what for a... More

The ride with Alberto was a highlight of our trip to La Fortuna! Be sure to bring cash as he doesn't accept credit cards. The fee includes the ride to the Arenal waterfall and a beautifully prepared lunch by his lovely wife! This was my first time on horseback. Alberto teams you with your horse by your zodiac sign. Wear... More

To be fair, we thought the waterfall tour was getting us out of the 500ish steps to the waterfall, but we just rode to the entrance of the park and had to do the walk in and out. Great family, very friendly. Horses aren't the typical American stable ponies that just plod along - fun riding! Almost wish we'd just... More

This experience was the highlight of my time in Costa Rica. Alberto is a wonderful guide, he speaks great English, is funny, answered all of our questions, etc. The route he takes is beautiful, through fields, forest, and across a stream, with great views of the volcano. Alberto clearly loves his animals and they are very well cared for, the... More

Riding with Alberto was great. This was my 1st ride so I was nervous but the horses clearly know what they're doing and led the way! Alberto gave us freedom to get in tune with the horse we rode but was still close behind if anything went wrong. It was so fun trotting around with the horses. The ride included... More

They don't accept credit card so come with cash!!! Wear the helmet provided. This is not the overly supervised trail ride you see in the states. Your guide will not be with you every second. He may be 100yds away opening or closing a gate. These horses actually require steering and will think for themselves. They are well cared for,... More

I had read the great reviews here, and told my concierge at my hotel I would be booking. He strongly tried to talk me out of it, and take their tour. He said Alberto did not take care of the horses, they were over worked, underfed, neglected. I would never support that, but I thought surely animal lovers abound on... More
