It was a great walk around Costa Rican plants and flowers. Well kept. Lots under construction unfortunately. Over priced in my opinion.

I really enjoyed my visit here. There is a nice Japanese garden and lovely areas with ferns, cacti, heliconias, etc. Interesting greenhouses with orchids.

This very nice destination to enjoy a Botanical garden. Is very well keep, its part of the national university of Costa Rica (UCR). For foreigners the cost is 10 USD for locals 5 USD for seniors or children 3 USD. Its about 45min to 1 hr ride from San Jose in a 35km trip. Be careful with traffic might be... More

This garden had a beautiful orchid house, a Japanese garden, bromiliad collection, cactus garden, and more. It wasn't too small, and wasn't too large. It's well organized, and if you follow the map (given) you can make a circuit through the garden and won't miss anything. There are several spots to sit, and lots of trees for shade. I'm an... More

I visited on January 7, and maybe flowers were out of season. There were virtually no flowers in bloom. The orchids were in a hothouse structure, and there were only a few blooming plants at the entrance and all the other plants in adjacent wings were not in bloom. You would surely see more flowers at your local florist. The... More

We got here late in the day and I wish we had a little more time. The orchid green houses were fascinating - the small orchids are unbelievably tiny. The grounds were amazing - so much cool nature to see. I don't think we got to do all the trails, but if you like nature, I would highly recommend this... More

Only one hour away from San Jose this gardens are a great option if you want to escape from the capital. The place is used also for investigation and not only for tourism. There are more than 1600 types of orchids in Costa Rica and here they study them and have found different species as well! The tour is very... More
