It is a nice, quiet place to wander. If you've been to many botanical gardens, there isn't anything special here, but it is a good, family friendly place.

The garden is surprisingly big. It has eight different areas with seven of them specializing in certain plants. The eighth is a rather run-down Japanese garden. The first one, where we spent the most time, was orchids. They have 18,000 plants and over 1,000 species....More

This botanical garden is all about Orchids and is operated by the University of Costa Rica. I really enjoyed learning about all sorts of orchids from an expert guide. If you love orchids this is the place to go.

Yes, the Lankester Botanical garden is a small, beautifully maintained garden with lots of interesting plants. But the Botanical garden, especially the one belonging to a University is supposed to be also an information source about the plants. And yet I have to see a...More

I wrote a good answer but the site said I could not include web sites or URLs which I did NOT. Annoying to have to erase most of my answer. I have no idea what you thought was a web site or a URL.
