Decided to go to Palo Verde last minute when we discovered that the park we planned on visiting was closed on mondays. We were not disappointed. Able to view a plethora of birds, capuchin monkeys, peccary and iguanas. There are hiking trails in the park as well. We took a couple of hikes, trails are not very well maintained, however... More

Well this really is the real Jungle Boat Cruise! We went through a small agency to do the tour which include the ride, lunch and tour. The boat ride itself was amazing and not too buggy. We saw white faced monkey, blue herron, small blue heron, storks, crocodiles, iguanas, and so much more. The boat operators were fantastic about finding... More

The guides picked us up from the hotel. They were bilingual and very informative. They and the boat captain were able to quickly spot various animals in the river and in the jungle canopy. A lunch was included in the tour.

With about 10 others, I took the 2 hour, guided tour. We saw the usual monkeys, birds, toothy creatures and night crawling, super-size lizards all about.

We very much enjoyed our visit to Palo Verde as it was much less-visited than many other Parks in Costa Rica and offered a wonderful mix of birds and wildlife. The Park Ranger at the main gate helped us organise an overnight stay in the very basic cabins used by researchers at the Park Headquarters (about 2 km from the... More

This was a great tour to see wildlife in the wetlands by boat. The guides were awesome and had an amazing eye to spot wildlife .. even when they pointed it out we had a tough time to see the animals/reptiles sometimes due to the foliage. Saw tons of crocodiles, birds, iguanas, howler monkeys, bats and other reptiles.... The guides... More

We drove here from Playas del Coco. The person at the gate gave us called a boat tour operator who met us at the dock. our 2 hour boat trip on the river gave us some nice views of crocodiles, giant iguanas, white faced monkeys, howler monkeys, roseate spoonbills and many other birds. on the drive out, we saw a... This was a half day trip from our resort Riu Guanacaste. Hour and 20 min drive and we boarded a boat which toke us along Tepesque river. Well, that was unbelievable journey! So many birds, iguanas, monkeys and crocs! We witnessed two crocs eating bird and iguana....Sad, but it is life...Food chain, nature...Those creatures are not living in all inclusive,... More

Booked trip through the hotel. Left hotel at 7:30am, 1.5 hour drive in the tour bus, which was air conditioned and very nice. English speaking guide gave us info on the way about sugarcane and cantaloupe crops that we were seeing. Stopped at a historic house and had coffee, juice and fresh fruit. Then drove another 12 minutes to the... More
