Once you enter at the Arenal Park main entrance and pay the entrance fee (which is valid for also visiting the lake), then you can drive further to park the car and take the walk to the viewing points. There are two walking loops shorter...More

We did a guided tour with Raul, who was really good. The nature was really beautiful and it was really nice to get some background information from Raul. It is highly recommended to visit the national park and also the guided tour was really good...More

Let's face it, EVERYTHING around the Volcano costs money, even simple hiking trails have an entrance fee, waterfalls likewise, not even speaking about many hot springs. So do yourself a favour and invest the 15 USD in the National Park, take a camera, see lots...More

We stayed at the foot of Arenal Volcano and marveled this fog-covered giant. In rainy days the mist and fog were too thick to see it. The of the rainforest smell is fresh and intoxicating. Just steps from our cabin we found our selves surrounded...More

Smoke and sometimes ashes rise regularly from this active volcano. We rented horses and rode fairly close to the to the volcano up a rocky dry riverbed. I love geology, so yeah, I geeked out. Wonderful people everywhere we visited.

This hike is in the Arenal Volcano Park which is government owned and operated and it shows. Having just completed several activities jn the Mistico Reserve there was no comparison. The latter is a slick professional operation, the Volcano Park is not. Entrance takes approximately...More

There's so much to see and do in Costa Rica so I wouldn't waste your money doing a hike here - very expensive even without a guide. It was rather underwhelming. This is coming from a nature nut who loves going hiking.

I would ask the hotel when you get there - they should have all the info you require.
