We visited this reserve on Good Friday, 2018. We arrived around noon and the parking lot was full. I get the impression we had a fair number of local folks there that day as well as international tourists like ourselves. We parked farther out alongside...More

We visited today, 22 February. Walked the shorter Danish trail. A fairly easy walk taking about 1.5 hours. Lots of great scenery and interesting wildlife. We saw two types of monkeys, coatis, lots of birds including an unusual woodpecker. The cost of 12 US dollars...More

Our first national park in Costa Rica. Not too crowded and really relaxing trek. We saw different monkeys, lizards, birds and butterflies. The beach itself was stunning. The park ranger was also nice and helpful. 12$ per person to enter, opened from Wed-Sun, 8am-4pm.

What a great place and really enjoyed the hike. Unfortunately, we followed Google Maps and it took us to the wrong side of the park (an hour out of the way)... we weren't the only ones... please note it is in Cabuya - just past...More

We were staying in Montezuma and went to Cabo Blanco for the day. We left on the 8am bus from Montezuma. Unlike most buses in Costa Rica this shuttle bus did not leave on time (it waited for the arriving bus from Cóbano?) before leaving....More

My husband and I headed out to the park early in the morning. We only took the short trail for lack of time. We enjoyed it immensely. We didn't think we would come across anything, but we were able to see plenty of birds and...More

Very nice trail slightly under 10 km muddy at times two or three opportunities to see monkeys (we saw howlers and white faces capuchins). Beautiful beach at the end. Plan for a morning hike. Bring lunch and hang on the beach.

OK, they weren't chimpanzees, but we had amazing encounters with wildlife including a couple capuchins and a troupe of howlers. We spent a good 20 minutes with the howlers as they canoodled with their young and napped -- until one fell a few branches down,...More

Correct, this is very difficult to find and not an official road. Its a Government area where you officially not allowed to pass but there is a path along the coast but only for walking, not for ATV. You need to park in the... More
