More
Tico Lingo is a language and cultural center devoted to teaching its students the Spanish language through cultural immersion and cross-cultural education. Our aim is to teach, immerse, and initiate a global understanding of Costa Rican culture. Complete with a library, a yoga studio, an organic fruit garden, and five class rooms, we offer students intensive Spanish lessons on site at our school in Costa Rica. We also offer a Homestay program where students live in the homes with local families and share two meals a day with them. Additional programs include Latin dance classes, yoga, adventure tours, cultural tours, and free conversational programs with local English students.

I taught myself Spanish through reading books, listening to music, and some online lessons. But, I still needed something more... communication practice. Someone mentioned attending an immersion school in Central America. I searched for something near San José, Costa Rica since I have friends there....More

I took spanish classes in High School and College, so I came in knowing the basics (without practicing for over 5 years!), but I was never really comfortable speaking it. Living in Heredia for a week and attending class at Tico Lingo really changed that....More
