Great trip to see a few monkeys and sloths but nothing more. Our boat trip was one hour, we included it with the Veragua Rain forest.

We visited the Tortuguero Canals as part of an excursion from a cruise ship. The journey to the canals was a stark contrast to the actual boat tour in the wildlife preserve. The port city of Limon can only be described as a slum with some of the worst conditions you can imagine. Never mind the glossy photos, it was... More

I did some research prior to our visit to Limón and it seems to be the general agreement that this is THE place to visit. I won't disagree. We had the ship organize a car and guide for us (Gray Tours) and they did great. The visit of the canal takes place in medium sized boats with a roof (but... More

We saw several sloths, many birds, a cayman, and assorted iguanas. The guide was a good spotted, and the captain always turned the boat around so everyone could see the wildlife. There are a lot of boats in the area and houses along the shore, so we didn't feel like we were really in the wild.

You cannot always see the wildlife even though they live there. A local guide is a great help. We took a ship's tour of the canal on a boat and the boat captain and tour guide spotted the local creatures quickly. The guide had a laser light and would shine the light on the fauna which was very helpful in... More

Good tour but, like everything else on those tours, make sure you haggle over price. I think it was $10 but I heard them tell some 25.

We booked a boat the night before through Willie's and had a fantastic time aboard a small private boat. Every time we passed a BIG overcrowded boat, I kissed my husband and thanked him for finding something for just the two of us. Ricardo was intuitive at finding wildlife. We saw spider monkeys, white faced cappocine monkeys, howler monkeys, LOTS... More

We were on this cruise with our private tour stop and Tom our boat captain and his son were so knowledgeable and we saw so many birds, sloths, a monkey, and it was very enjoyable

Finally saw and heard wildlife along the canal. Heard howler monkeys, saw many birds, saw River people's life along the canal, and saw the confiscation lot of huge variety and amount of boats and engines taken from water drug trade crimes.
