We left our cruise ship to walk in the downtown area of Limon. Like the rest of the area Vargas Park was run-down and you had had a constant concern for your safety. Not even sure why the cruise ship would stop here other than...More

At one time this must have been a pretty little park but not now. Littered. Run down. Trees need LO)TS of attention. Broken glass everywhere. NOT a good place for children. If "local culture" includes drunks and homeless, then this fits the bill.

Vargas Park is the only place we found in Puerto Limon within walking distance of shipyard where the cruise ship docked that was worth seeing.

We were on a Cruise April 2016 and decided to venture out to the park... a small rain forest... so much potential to be a clean place to visit. It appears that they are trying to upgrade the sidewalks but looks like they ran out...More

Our Cruise Ship was in the port of Limon for the day and a friend and I decided to check out this nearby little park hearing that it was possible to see birds and maybe a sloth in the mature trees. Our visit seemed to...More

A nice park in the 80's, I used to play chess there in the evenings. Those times are gone.... Right near the port in the vicinity of red light zones. Poorly kept, lonely at night. During the day full of unemployed people trying to make...More
