The water was very rough and there were flags up as warnings not to swim in certain areas. The beach itself, was nice and safe for our small group.

Good surf. No one trying to sell you stuff. This is really a surfer beach- No fancy hotels or beach side attractions which is fine.

This is a clean and beautiful beach. Certain spots are more lively than others. How far down you go depends on how much privacy you desire.

Full of charm and friendly people, especially mid-week when it is less busy. You can easily get around without a car-good bus system and cheap bicycle rentals!

Beautiful beach with soft sand and surf. Riptides!!! Respect the ocean and you will enjoy. Great for walking or just hanging out listening to the waves.

Beautiful beach. One can walk for miles. Great place to surf. Strong rip tides, though, so be careful.

Beautiful beaches! Peaceful, on the cleaner side with your choice of black sand, combination or white! Serene and beautiful!

Fun, open air cafes (sodas as they are called there) line the main waterfront with seats facing the beach; great way to unwind and enjoy a meal

The beautiful beach was a couple miles in length and the ocean was perfect for frolicking in 3ft waves. The clear sky and hot sun will have you reapplying the sunblock every hour. Lots of people but spread out makes you feel like you have...More

My suggestion is to stay in Puerto Viejo, since Manzanillo is about 20 minutes driving from there and you can easily move up and down the coast. I suggest you to book a guide as well, because Manzanillo park is not that easy... More
