After spending time at the Jaguar Rescue Center, we had hopes of an interesting visit to the Kekoldi Indigenous Reserve. We.re still not sure why, but no one was there. Lunch break maybe? We saw many cages of iguanas that are being raised any released.

Did a tour organised by terraventura. It started with visit to a shaman followed by visit to community where we were shown how the bribri make chocolate, had a traditional lunch and were shown around the vegetable garden. The day finished with a visit to s waterfall but because it had been raining for few days it wasn't suitable for... More

A kind of a small iguana farm run by the Koköldi Indians. It is very interesting to see but I myself had hopoed for a bit more information on the Indians and their lives. We did see a little of bit of that and we also ate a typical Indian dish of chicken with steamed root vegetables in a banana... More

We learnt how the Bribri made different medicines, cosmetics and artefacts from the forest, which was fascinating. We also saw how chocolate was made, from cacao bean all the way to a hot chocolate drink! A great tour.

We booked a Bird watching tour through Caribe Fun tours. It was totally awesome. Our guide Alex was from the community and made it a truly educational experience. Not only did he point out tons of birds, wildlife and plants, he also shared history of the area. Even if you are not a bird lover, this is a must see... More

This tour is one of the few ones where is just you and pure Nature (Jungle), guided by a native Bribri guide making a formal stop at a Bribri small village for a typical lunch. The hike ends at a fantastic and astonishing water fall where you will not see any tourist (it is an authentic non-touristy place to visit).... More

Kekoldi is a great cultural experience with native Bribri that allows you to discover their perception on the forest ecosystem, plants and wildlife. It is better to spend at least a half day in Kekoldi and to share a traditional meal with a Bribri family. A must do when in the Talamanca region.

This was an incredible experience. It's the shorter hike offered at ATEC, so you do not see any of the homes--just the iguana farm. The hike through primary and secondary rain forest is moderately difficult. The guide showed us many plants used for medicinal purposes and for food. He pointed out creatures we would have missed, like poison dart frogs,... More

My favorite part was being introduced to the Bri Bri people. I was amazed at all the medicinal plants in the jungle. I was delighted to learn so much about the natural setting. We got to make our own hot cocoa. Edgar was our guide and he knew a lot about the area. We also went to a waterful that... More

First of all I do have to say that there are several places to visit the BriBri, and i'm not sure which one I went to (just check the pictures to see if you recognize it). We went to BriBri village and from there 30 minutes further to the river which is the border between Costa Rica and Panama. it... More
