Thank you Ivantours. Thank you guys.
As an avid traveler, I can confidently say that my experience with Ivantours was nothing short of exceptional. The tour to Tortuguero National Park was a true highlight of my Costa Rica trip. The knowledgeable guides provided insightful commentary, making the wildlife and lush landscapes come to life. The attention to detail and commitment to responsible tourism by Ivantours made me feel like I was not only exploring but also contributing to the conservation of this beautiful region. Highly recommended!

    Best Experience in Tortuguero
My recent trip to Tortuguero with Ivantours was an absolute delight from start to finish. This secluded paradise on Costa Rica's Caribbean coast was brought to life in the most extraordinary way by Ivantours' impeccable planning and expert guidance. The boat tours through the intricate network of canals were a highlight of the trip. Gliding through the waterways, we were treated to mesmerizing views of wildlife in their natural habitats – from playful monkeys in the trees to colorful birds soaring overhead. The excitement peaked when we spotted a majestic sea turtle making its way up the beach to lay its eggs, a sight I'll treasure forever. Ivantours ensured that our stay was nothing short of extraordinary. The accommodations were nestled perfectly within the lush surroundings, allowing us to feel immersed in the environment while enjoying modern comforts. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect, from the delicious local cuisine to the seamless coordination of activities. Thank you

    Day Tour
My husband and I took a day tour to Tortuguero National Park. We were the only ones on our tour with a very friendly, knowledgeable guide. The national park began with a boat tour on the Tortuguero river. We went on a hike where we saw squirrel monkeys and a lot of poisonous dart frogs. We then climbed up 400+ steps to get an overview of the whole area. We then went to the town of Tortuguero where we had lunch. We saw a number of animals including great green macaws, crocodiles, basilisks and several birds. Tortuguero is boarded by the Caribbean where sea turtles come and lay their eggs. We were not in season, so we did not see any. However, it was still nice to see the remote town of Tortuguero that is only accessible by boat or airplane. Many who go to the national park tour spend two days, so it was not common for us to only to do it in one day. A number of hotels are lined along the river. Several boats run up and down the river carrying passengers and goods.

    Wonderful Park!
A must do when In Tortuguero! We spent approximately 1.5 hours enjoying a nice hike on the Jaguar Trail, on a very hot day, so were thankful for the shade of all the trees. The trail took us around the park by the beach, which you can go out on & through the jungle all while enjoying peace, quiet, the amazing flora & fauna and watching for creatures and critters of all kinds. We saw many geckos, were lucky enough to see a little Tortoise eating a plant along the path and a couple of Great Currasow birds, along with monkeys swinging in the trees above our heads, but no Jaguars - thankfully! Interesting couple of hours spent in a terrific park that is here to protect this precious piece of our planet!

Please be aware of this website TortugueroNationalPark.com. We book a nice all-inclusive tour of the Tortuguero area in December, took the tour in February, and it was excellent. The problem is that the vendor, Ivan Tours, charged our credit card twice for this, once when we booked the tour and again in February. When we got home and discovered the extra charge, I contacted them about this, and each time they promise a refund, but after 3 contacts where they gave excuses and promised to refund the extra charge, it is now mid-April and no refund yet. Hopefully our credit card bank can resolve this.

The national park entrance is impressive and there’s a fair amount of information there - & a striking-looking observation platform to ascend. As so often though you just know you’d see much more with a guide. We spotted a sloth up a tree - pointed out by other visitors - lots of leaf cutter ants marching in columns across the main trail, and jaguar prints down on the beach - again pointed out by another visitor. The park is mainly here an attractive but fairly narrow strip of forest behind the beach and especially as this was on only day 2 of our 2-week tour we were pretty sure we were missing a lot of what keener eyes would spot. Get a guide, if you can.

I had a fantastic tour of the canals and national park with Miguel Circuito. He was so informative and experienced boatman. I saw so many amazing animals and birds. He knew right where to go and was able to get up close with just the right lighting for wonderful pictures. I highly recommend Miguel.

Great couple of days here
Travelled up from La Fortuna
Fransico our guide at Tortuguero was brilliant - overseeing the time we were here
Staff at Evergreen were more than helpful

I am a lazy trip advisor contributor and since my last posting spent time in South America , South Africa Vietnam ( plus) and loads of time in Europe in our camper van

I will start to fill in the gaps as I think it might be helpful to recently retired people - or just those who are not quite in their “ 20’s” ha ha!! - who want some adventure

Take your binoculars, cameras and waterproofs as all weather conditions can be encountered and when it rains it can be terrential (some guides do carry spare ponchos). However, so much wildlife to be observed such as Caymans, birds, sloths, monkeys, reptiles, snakes and excellent photo opportunities. You have to pay to enter the park which will be handled by your guide.
A must while in Costa Rica!
