The staff was very friendly and courteous. well versed with English. We took private lessons and they made it easy and fun for the kids. The heavy down pour did not stop them from enjoying the surfing in water.

My husband, daughter and son tried surfing with Tropical Surf School. After being picked up late, they did make up for lost time at the beach. My daughter got up nearly every time, and my son several times. The staff was pleasant and helpful and worked to make it a pleasant experience.

The surf school was excellent and the guide met us in quepos and helped to navigate manuel antonio including parking. Beaches are crowded and I would recommend having someone watch your things/cars for you and it was very helpful to have a guide with us from the surf school.

Working with the Tropical Surf School is a great way to learn to surf. They provide the boards, vests, and instruction as part of the fee. They also provided us with fresh pineapple and cold bottled water during a break we took from surfing. I was there with a group of 18 teens taking a break from a week of... More

Terrible bad experience. They only care about your money and how they gonna make it nicely and easily. NL actual instruction and the time is stalled time after time so they work less and male more. Sneaklh, sleazy,

Gilbert was our personal instructor This was the first time EVER for us surfing. This really is a FUN experience, and Tropical Surf School (and Gilbert)... More

This surf shop is the real thing, great employees, locally owned and very attentive. My son's teacher took pictures of him, because I didn't have a camera, and then he emailed them to us. Very courteous and laid back staff ready to make your surf experience very good!

I kind of lucked out because it was only me and my instructor Michael. We just hopped across the street to the quepos harbour and after a quick lesson on the sand bar we headed out to catch some waves. The was definitely more of an urban beach as opposed to the beautiful spots in Manuel Antonio so I would... More

My family of four had a great experience at the tropical surf school. Miguel was an excellent instructor and show us how to get on top of the board. By the end of the lesson I was able to get up once. My daughter was the pro. The team was very professional and prompt. Highly recommend them for a great... More

great lessons, but the ocean was a little rough. The instructors where very patient with our sixteen year old son. All and all it was a great experience but i did cut my foot on a piece of coral after getting pummeled by a huge wave.
