Carol and her animals unbelievable......she has animals that she is healing to release and some that are to damaged that she loves and cares for. There is a local monkey called sweetie that will win your heart. DO NOT go to Puerto Jimenez with out a trip to the sanctuary.

This is a sanctuary ran by someone who gave up a beautiful small lodge to support animals in need . You won't see a lot , only the animals which can never be released back into the wild , these are kept away from visitors , quite correctly. You will almost definitely be greeted by Sweetie , a spider monkey... More

Carol the owner is a kick and very interesting. Could have talked to her for hours. You will see how everything works. I think she is really doing her best to make sure every animals has an opportunity to grow and be at their best.

This was our second visit to the sanctuary. A pleasure to be greeted by Sweety the monkey on the beach. I believe the only way to visit is by boat. Wonderful to experience the care the volunteer workers put into helping these animals.

The setting to get there is rather picturesque; sandy, palm tree beach access from the water into well-maintained footpaths through the forest. We were greeted by Carol and we instantly... More

We came here off of a boat tour....was incredible that we got to see the animals up close! And saw a 9 day old squirrel money! Informative and saw sloths up close, scarlet Macaws up close.... Carol is great and we loved this place!

We just returned from our second trip to the beautiful Osa Penninsula and Puerto Jimenez, a very pleasant Costa Rican town. We contacted Changing Tide, an excellent eco-tour group, and they recommended a trip across Golfo Dulce that included the Osa Wildlife Sanctuary. Are we glad they did! This is a true sanctuary for (a) injured animals that can be... More

Had the pleasure of spending a few weeks as a volunteer at this wonderful sanctuary. The animals receive the best of care and much effort is put into ensuring their highest wellbeing. You will learn a lot and will likely have the opportunity for up close and meaningful interaction with many of the animals. The sanctuary is run by a... More
