My daughter and I used Arenas Travel Tours which was located across the street from the Hilton Doubletree in Costa Rica Puntarenas. The air conditioning bus picked us up on time (8am) and we drove for about 30 mins to the boat. We were greeted by our tour guide Daniel whom was very knowledgeable and friendly. The boat ride was... Our cruise ship group was promptly picked up in the port of Puerto Caldera (Carlos) and in a short time we were at the Capuchin Monkey place, very fun. Then off on a lovely drive to Esparza City and a mini walking tour there. Very clean and you are allowed to use the very clean restrooms at the local grocery... More

We had been in contact with the tour company and they suggested grouping us with other travelers. I guess I wasn't careful enough because we didn't end up with the tour I had been trying to book. This was the "Five Cities" tour. The guides were wonderful, but we spent too much time at a coffee plantation. No one could... More

We went to Tortuga Island snorkeling trip, and it was great. We had a large group and they gave us a good discount. Our guide, Daniel, spoke good English. He had extensive knowledge about marine life and showed many tricks during snorkeling that I will keep for future trips :). The lunch was very good, they made a special vegetarins... More

This was a great small group tour of Puntarenas and Costa Rica. Best was the visit with the monkeys, nothing like a wild monkey sitting on your head while you feed him a banana. Also, a great lunch was included at an exclusive hotel overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Great English speaking guide and a very reasonable price.

When on a recent Panama Canal cruise, we were to visit Puntarenas, Costa Rica. None of the ship's tours fit the bill so we contacted Arenas Travel, told them what we wanted to do and they planned the day for us. They were easy to work with during the planning stage...very responsive and gave some good advice. Our tour guide... More

Recently returned from a cruise with a stop in Costa Rica. Charlie, our wonderful tour guide, gave us a terrific day in Costa Rica. We began at the monkey sanctuary, then off for a mini tour of Puntaranus that included a stop to watch a children's dance performance and a driving and walking tour of the town, stopping at a... Both excursions were all day and fabulous! The food prepared for Tortuga island was restaurant quality, and Animals lovers tour stopped at one for the most beautiful restaurants. Food delicious. But even more fantastic were the guides, Santiago, who helped us book, and all of the guides for the tours. They go out of their way to tell you about... More
