I thought this museum was great. I was told by a few locals that it wasn't worth it, but I disagree. I spent over 3 hours inside! The regular exhibits were mostly interesting. The fort section was a little boring for my taste, but the...More

It is a fairly good size museum but small enough to see it all and still enjoy it. The aboriginal section is very impressive. A real must to get to understand Costa Ricas special ways and culture.

It has some good information about the history of Costa Rica, including some very interesting stories. It also has a really nice butterfly garden. It's a nice place to explore.

As others have said, many of the exhibits have English information as well as Spanish. I don't speak Spanish either but I enjoyed my visit.
