The park is huge. On sunny weekends it's full of Tico families and couples enjoying the landscape, strolling, cooking out, etc. If your only experience with San Jose is centro (downtown) you will see another side to San Jose here.

My dogs loved the green areas, trees and lake. There are several restaurants around, but you can also do a picnic. You usually find activities or events in the park, so there's always something fun happening. The stadium is also a lovely tour to take.

I had a very nice walk in this park, many people were doing sport activities. It is a very nice green place comparing to the ugly center of San Jose. It is also very close to the national stadium of Costa Rica.

I'm an avid walker-I walk at least 4 miles a day at a good clip. San Jose does not really have places to walk, but this park is great. Especially on the weekends. You'll see families playing futbol (soccer), riding horses and ponies, having picnics. There is a small pond you can include in your walkabout. It's close to our... More

Great park right in the hustle and busy area of San Jose. great running/walking trails, playground, soccer fields, a small lake with pedal boats and good spot for some urban bird watching.

Among all things in this country, La Sabana ( Costarican Central Park), give to all the people, that goes there, the opportunity in a very safe place, a combination of physical activity and fun, overwhelm by this unique sensation of peace, in the heart of the city, providing to almost all the visitors, the feeling of being at a home big... We stayed at a hotel just up the street from this park. During our week long visit we went there 3 times and used it as a short cut a couple of other times. This park is huge and has been described as a mini-Central Park. There are lots of walking paths and the park was filled with families picnicking,... More

Had a nice breezy walk here after finding the CR art museum closed. Paths, sports fields, trees, small lake. Pleasant, crowded, a bit rundown.

This is a big park with lots of room for family activities, especially sports oriented. Beautiful lake in the middle. Good for a day time walk (plenty of shade).
