It turns out Chema's Bodega is in the process of moving to a new location, so the place is not operating daily. Call ahead of time if you're planning a visit! Next time I'm back in San Jose, for sure I will do the workshop....More

Attended the class on may 10th (it goes from 1pm to 6pm) and right away you can tell that Chema is a pro, he knows his craft and can also teach, he makes it look so easy that one might think anyone can do it,...More

Stumbled across this cool little store and walked away with a growler of La Pelona IPA and several bottles of Costa Rican microbrews. The guys were very nice, spoke good English (better than my Spanish!), and let us sample the taps for free. I'll return...More

I enjoyed very much all the explanation and hands on of the entire process. Chema has a great customers service! I will definitely purchase supplies and equipment from the store to make my own brew. 100% recommended to all Beers lovers!

Though it is a small place, Chema's bodega is a worthwhile visit in San Jose. Growlers and bottles to go, local beers, beer ingredients and equipment, t-shirts and even classes for those who want to learn more.
