This is a non-profit tropical garden which took over 20 years to establish (according to the owner of the cafe). The garden is full of colour and gorgeous so well worth the visit in spite of $5 NZD per person admission fee. Once you walk through the beautiful garden, you can sit down and have a drink or lunch at... More

You might not think that going to a botanical garden would be a highlight of a trip to a tropical island, since the whole island is so green and beautiful... but the couple of hours we spent here were some of our best-spent time on the island! The gardens are just breathtaking; you can tell that creating and caring for... More

Whether it was just the time of year or a result of lack of maintainence the gardens are look a little worse for wear since my last visit 5 years ago. If seemed a little overgrown with the some of the paths and tracks becoming unidentifiable its almost as if the gardens are being allowed to revert back to how... More

Not sure what to expect but was amazed by the lush planting, beautiful flowers and gorgeous vistas. Its only $5 to visit but it's well worth it. Unfortunately the cafe was not open on the day I visited as I had hoped to try their famous cheesecake. Greta place to take photos though.

Thank you so much for your lovely words. Yes, we did close our Cafe' for a small time over the festive season . We needed a break, but we are now back bigger than ever eagerly approaching 2017 . We hope to see you back one day. Hinano & John More

Popped in for lunch on a busy new year public holiday. I was served a lovely tropical salad with a reasonable range of wines from one winery. Whilst the staff were very busy they were attentive and fiendly. Gardens are wonderful so donate a large gold coin in appreciation.
