I'm not an expert golfer, so I lost 4 balls! Beautiful setting in Haines and friendly owners. Provided everything necessary, even boots or shoes as the course is a little mushy. Definitely not the most manicured, but hey you're in Alaska and it's what makes...More

We were met by the owner who showed enormous pride in his course - before we could T off we were given an historical overview of the course and the geological forces at work. The pro shop is well stocked. This 9 hole course offers...More

Wonderful catamaran ride from our ship in Skagway to play at this course in Haines. The owners and staff were so nice! Built in wetlands makes it tough for the upkeep of this course as they're limited on what they're allowed to use for weed...More

If you are looking for an eastern, pristine country club course, don't bother. But if you want to see what can be done on glacier silt, with no chemicals allowed to be put on turf, where the rough is all wild flowers and the first...More

Thanks for your comments. You caught the essence of the course as it was developed, even though I did not appreciate the many natural challenges that would have to be overcome! Glad you were able to be here and see the natural beauty of the...More

Thank you for your review. This is a Links course, built on glacier silt. As the glaciers melt in this area, the land rises out of the sea. Vegetation is just now coming in to the golf course area, including some salt that prevents grass...More

What a great chance to say you have played golf in Alaska. Yes the greens are artificial, but who cares. What a great experience.

One of the most unique golf experiences ever. With views of snow covered mountains, bald eagles overhead, river water hazard, and lost ball opportunities galore, it cannot be equalled in any state side setting. However, it is an isolated, ecologically sensitive area that floods at...More
