Haines is a quiet little place just around the corner from the more touristy Skagway but it's real in the sense that it's where people live versus a tourist trap for cruise ships. We learned about the hammer museum from a Seabourn staff member just...More

The collection of hammers is unbelievable! All kinds and diverse uses of hammers throughout endless time. The staff is friendly. I highly recommend to get the pass for the 3 local museums. One low fee and flexibility.

Found the Hammer Museum while on a cruise in Alaska. It was really quite interesting. However, they have a little shop section selling various items with the Hammer logo and there were two stacks of baseball caps both with signs saying the hats were $20...More

Never knew there were so many hammers. Lady said there are 2,000 on exhibit and more than that in storage. Amazing. There are 3 museums in Haines within walking distance of each other. You can by a pass to get in to all three.

This place is very impressive - over 2,000 hammers with another 3,000 stored off-site. The woman who was working there was very friendly helpful and knowledgeable. We had no idea that there were so many types of specialty hammers. Really glad we stopped in.

A museum about a hammer, really? YES! It's a fun, unique stop and is worth it for some off the wall pictures! And, you might learn a couple things!

Who knew there were so many kinds of hammers? A neat history and view into the past with different types of hammers. Check out the hammers outside as well as inside too!

Haines is a pretty small town so the hammer museum is really a prime attraction. It is a real hammer museum and its kind of amazing that there are so many hammers. You have to be particularly into hammers to enjoy it. It's about five...More
