My preference is to hike in the high alpine. That said, this trail offers the feel of what it's like to be in the coniferous rain forest, and provides a few worthy scenic viewpoints. The trail rises 1700+ feet to the top of the tram...More

My partner and I went last September. It was an amazing hiking experience. Steep trail that was almost like an obstacle course and the views - once you could see through the dense forest - was amazing. Our total hike was 7 hours and we...More

If you have the time, this hike is very rewarding, it is over an hour of gradual climb (and can be muddy and slippery) but Alaska is about adventure! Save yourself the money and do the hike for the view!
