This was a great snorkel experience, we heard about this from a few of the staff on our cruise ship, and decided try it. We were not disappointed. I was with 3 cousins all late teens and early twenties and it seemed pretty easy for us to be able to swim it. We did have an older lady in our... More

I know, you're thinking 'snorkel in Alaska' what, what??? But as unbelievable, and maybe as unthinkable as it may sound jumping into the ocean in ALASKA - this was THE MOST INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME. The staff was a group of off-the-chart smarties (Marine biologists, Master divers, etc). and the ratio to divers made everyones experience up close, in-your-hand... More

Staff were incredible, and helpful. Getting the suit on was a challenge, but once on and in the water, an incredible experience, and NOT Cold. The suit very well equipped to deal with that. I did not expect to see so many different coloured sea stars, and we all got to hold different species from the water. An incredible experience... More

Highly recommended. The staff, equipment, training and guidance with this outfit is top notch. Getting into the water in Alaska was not on my initial list, but we had a marvelous time. The conditions we encountered were not ideal, but it really didn't matter - the excursion was so well managed that we had a five star experience anyway.

This was a nicely organised tour and it was a lot of fun to gear up in the wet suit and actually get out in the water of Alaska. The people were friendly and helpful and informative. We saw so many underwater creatures: colorful sea stars, red sea cucumbers, jellyfish galore, sea urchins the size of dinner plates, a small... More

Yes, snorkeling in Alaska. It was a totally new experience for me as I have only ever snorkelled in warmer waters. The staff were all very well spoken and shared their knowledge of the creatures that live in this frigid enviroment. From the beginning of entering the shuttle there were jokes and good hearted ribbing. The instructions on how to... More

Booked this excursion directly with Snorkel Alaska after reading TripAdvisor reviews. Met driver right where they said he would be and e was there early, as I was. Short ride from the cruise ship to their shop. Their equipment is first rate and in excellent condition. The actual swim site is about 1 mile from the shop. The guides were... More

We have snorkeling quite a bit in tropical areas; this is a very different experience. The water is gray and the sealife is not very varied with few fish. We basically moved from spot to spot, not seeing much under water. Then we would stop, rest in a shallow area and one of the staff would pull up something interesting... More

Hi Jennifer. Thanks for the review. That's snorkeling in Alaska for you! You should not have expected anything similar to Hawaii, the Caribbean or Australia. The intertidal zone of Southeast Alaska actually has more marine life than just about anyplace in the world, it's just different. Unfortunately this summer we had a lot of hot sunny days which reduces our... More

Not a lot of people can say they've snorkeled in Alaska but now we can. This was a very memorable experience. The staff is fantastic!. Very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and, most importantly, very patient. Most of our group had never seen a mask or snorkel before but the crew helped everybody into their gear (getting into a wet-suit the first time... More

There were so many starfish you had to worry about stepping on them! Crystal clear water, abundant wildlife, excellent guides and equipment. With the wetsuit I was not cold at all! You do need to follow their guidelines about being reasonably fit and the wetsuit is not easy to get on. I am not a scuba diver but I am... More
