Great hole for snorkeling or scubadiving

Located right off the shore, so no boat needed this hole is very deep based on it's location and inside there is a reef with many tropical fish!

We borrowed a paddle board from Pacific Treelodge where we were staying and paddled out to the Blue Hole and snorkeled the perimiter. Nice corals on the ocean side, porcupinefish... as we snorkeled clockwise around from the northern end we came across some interesting caverns and freshwater, cold upwellings said to come down underground from the mountains. Nice Snorkel!

Very accessible for snorkeling - saw giant coral formations, tons of fish, and a stingray 5 feet across. What a very pleasant surprise a few meters from shore!

The Blue Hole is just that, a large, deep, round hole (opening) in the sand and eel grass flats, surrounded by coral. Blue Hole snorkeling is best done at high tide, but can be snorkeled anytime. There is a wooden gazebo on the grassy area just above the beach across the road from Nautilus and we would walk in from... More

Having read some of the reviews are expectations were very low, but after Doug from the Nautilus told us about the snorkelling we donned our gear and off we went from the beach. Even at high tide the surround of the hole is only about 1m deep. We found much more aquatic life that expected, even of the visibility was... More

Even the locals agreed; calling this blue is misrepresentation. Even so, we had fun snorkeling and paddleboarding there.

It is clean and very unspoiled. Located right across from the Nautilus Resort, it is great spot to spend your days soaking in the island life.

Right out in front of Kosrae Nautilus Resort. There's no diving allowed on Sundays so this is a good alternative activity or something nice to do in the afternoons after the morning dives.
