We flew in on a bluebird day in September with a clear view of Denali and its surrounding peaks. That alone would have made my whole trip but it only continued to get better. We were greeted by Heather and her husband Dave and their two exceptional children. Their service and hospitality were spot on. You could tell that they truly cared about our comfort and our experience. The main lodge has a grand room with a cozy fireplace where I enjoyed several nights indulging in charcuterie that was promptly served at 5 pm every evening. I consider this my new happy place...
The days were spent fishing out on the 5-mile stretch of the gorgeous blue lake where we caught several fish. The chef even prepared our catch for breakfast, lunch, and dinner throughout our stay. It was a trip my husband and I will never forget and we can't wait to get back to our happy place!

Stephan lake is a true Alaskan experience from the flight in to the flight out. We were lucky to catch the fall colors and Northern Lights over Labor Day weekend. We had amazing views on our hike along with an ample amount of blueberries for picking. At the end of the day, we would come back to delicious meals and great hospitality. One of my favorite experiences!

What an amazing experience! The lake and lodge are both so peaceful and relaxing. The scenery is truly unmatched! Can’t wait to make it back for more adventures.

What a great place and experience all the way around. I was able to stay at the end of summer and was able to see the northern lights, food was amazing and Heather and Dave were great. I highly recommend going there if you ever have an opportunity. 10 out of 10.

I was just out for one night but managed to see moose and bears on the flight out and got a brilliant northern lights show right from the gorgeous front deck overlooking the lake and mountains.
Even just the flight out to the lodge is one of the most stunning experiences I’ve had in Alaska and I grew up and spent most of my life here. This is not a spot to miss.
Bill killed it in the kitchen with the best spread I’ve seen. All the owners and staff were fantastic. Definitely going to get back out as soon as I can.

What an incredible place! Love the views of the mountains overlooking the lake. Really enjoyed the flight in and boating around the lake seeing all of the salmon. The food was top notch and scenery unbeatable.

Spent a week at the lodge on a friends and family winter getaway
WOW!!!!!!
What a unique and wonderful experience
If you want to get away from the tour buses and tourist traps; and see the 'Real Alaska", this is it
Scenic flight from Talkeetna, beautiful lodge, lake, forrest, mountains, wildlife, everything you could imagine
Dave and Heather are the BEST!

Dave, Heather & family, your knowledge and experience with the area and wildlife is truly astounding! But what’s more, is your genuine enthusiasm and passion to share it with your guests (and even staff alike!) It’s reflected in the attentiveness of the guides/staff, providing the hospitality & comfort for the trip of a lifetime.
Bill & Natasha in the kitchen is a dining experience that is unmatched! I still think of the views from the lodge every morning while I pour my cup of coffee and look forward to my return!
