Well worth the $5 contribution. This little complex of buildings including a 1936 schoolhouse, houses a good collection of local artifacts. Items from the areas mining and trapping past are included. In the old section house they have an interesting video and memorabilia and information...More

A good place to look at things from the history of Talkeetna and Alaska, especially the local bush pilots and the Railroad. Easy to walk around and between buildings, and the staff was helpful. Something to come back to on the next visit to Talkeetna,...More

Modest, friendly, and a chance to get a sense of how this very young (founded 1916 or so thanks to Woodrow Wilson's Interior Secty's RR dreams) place grew. Shows respect for the First Nations people. Worth it for the Mountain Room alone - a big...More

Excellent collection of Climber and aviation history. Small venue teeming with all shorts if historical tidbits. Worthy of your time in Talkeetna.

Small admission fee and great value. We took in the ranger talk at 1:00 pm that gives an overview and history of climbing Denali. The exhibits are 'local' and well done. Decent library with books about the region and other Alaska writers of renown.

When everyone else is shopping for junk on Main Street, this little hen is a block off the path behind the general store and offers a wealth of information on the town. From the old school house and the train depot to the Denali climbers...More

Very interesting place. The staff was friendly and everything is displayed nicely. Fairly small with a total of 3 buildings. Don't miss the short movie. It's $5 or $15 for the family. Thirty minutes is all the time you need. You sure get a feel...More

The collection of historical items and information was a great enhancement to our understanding of the local area. There was a presentation by a National Park Ranger on climbing Denali that was very informative and interesting. The museum staff was very friendly and shared information...More
