We were in town for the first time. You can’t miss the sundial because it’s huge and Carefree is small.

Great centerpiece for a town center unique to Carefree, AZ. Even on a cloudy day it’s worth a visit to see the world’s 3rd largest sundial :) The sitting areas are also very inviting and epitomize the “carefree” attitude of the area :)

Ok to go there, but only if you are in Carefree. It is not worth a detour from the I-17 to get there. Stores there are ok, but not exceptional. Biggest sundial in Arizona? The world? Don't know and don't care, but at least looking...More

A very attractive setting, the sundial is surrounded by exceptionally well done, interesting landscaping. Great for picture taking. See the nearby bronze cowboy on his horse. Carefree is the home of the Boulders Resort...do a drive thru...and homes set in and around huge boulders on...More

It would appear that the previous reviewer did not appreciate the "adult " content of some of the displays. On the other hand, I thought that most of the situations displayed were very clever and well thought out. The little gourd chicks were hilarious. I...More

We visited the downtown blocks-long plaza in Carefree to see the giant sundial. Over the Halloween season, Oct 20-29, 2017, the 3rd annual Enchanted Pumpkin Garden featured 8-10 dioramas with pumpkins carved and arranged by artist Ray Villafane. Generally very clever, with funny situations and...More

A small yet quaint place to visit for children and adults. It is especially a nice place when there are events such as wine and art shows, Farmer's Market and holiday events. Visit galleries, English Tea Room, restaurants and shops or take the children to...More
