Took my grandson to the Preserve this morning. We enjoyed a short stroll while watching the waterfowl on one of the many ponds. Parts of the walking paths are shaded to provide a respite from the AZ sun. Then he wanted to go to the kids play area. It's set up nicely so kids of all ages (toddlers to teens)... More

This is a beautiful natural area in the Gilbert area. It has a fishing pond and you can spot turtles, water fowl and the occasional fish if you are lucky. They also have an observatory that is open to the public on scheduled evenings. Bring the kids for a free "astronomy" star gazing evening. The paths are all pretty flat... More

Great place to relax and walk the pooches. Met GF here while walking our monsters. Many trails and ponds, with wildlife everywhere, always a good time here. Clean and well maintained.

Great spot to explore with kids: even the playground leaves a good amount to the imagination. Find the winding dirt trails, eat a snack under sprawling palo verde trees along the stream, walk around the various lakes and ponds, even dig for Dino bones!! Well done space to find some peace and start out a day with or without kiddos... More

Was in Scottsdale for a few days, I visited the Riparian Preserve and was told by numerous people that it was "slow". I saw black crowned night herons, sparrows of various kinds, ladder-backed wood peckers, flickers, cactus wrens, thrashers, cinnamon teal, avocets, snowy egrets, black-necked stilts, a sora, various peeps, western grebe, northern harrier, great blue herons, black chinned hummingbirds,... The walk is flat and on easy trail around six ponds. Lot of water birds and cactus. Great place to relax and enjoy viewing. Also to practice photography. Many types of plants.

This was a fun place for the Girl Scout Troup to explore. The girls were working on several badges for wildlife and natural habitats.
