The best part about this attraction is your ability to look down a mine shaft from a glass platform. It is absolutely fascinating! It is very safe, so don't worry about stepping on the glass.

So worth the short stop right outside the Douglas Mansion. Could be easily missed and really a fun sight.

A free attraction in the area once you leave the State Park Museum. Good photo opportunities. This will only take 10 minutes.

We enjoyed this very much. You get to look straight down a mine shaft while standing on a glass floor. Being afraid of heights, I was scared! My boys on the other hand loved it. Not much to see but kids get a kick out of it.

We loved this free attraction in Jerome. I had teenagers and a 5 year old with me and they all found it fascinating. We thought it was really cool to throw pebbles through the grate and you could never hear them drop. There are some nice informative signs and it's just cool. It's a little hard to get to from... Wow! This shows a real shaft & a visual of how far down they actually went in one~ it doesn't look like much of a stop but we were impressed.

This was cool to check out and free, but I wouldn't say it is a destination attraction. It was suggested by the volunteer at the State Park that we stop on our way out and we were glad we did. The depth of the shaft was unfathomable and mind boggling when compared in a diagram to the height of the... More

The Audrey Headframe Park is just outside the Historical Park of Jerome and has some interesting history. It operated from 1915 to 1938 and there was extraction of 4 million tons of ore that yeillded gold, silver and copper.

We went to the Audrey Headframe Park which is a free attraction in Jerome. The state of the art Audrey shaft and headframe was built by the United Verde Extension (UVX) Company. It was built due to an extraordinary rich copper deposit. From 1919 through 1938 the Audrey headframe lifted more than 3.6 million tons of ore yielding 320,000 tons... More

The Audry Headframe is a wooden Headframe witch is interesting by itself. The Park has several other items of mining history and good signage telling about the different things. The glass-topped mineshaft is excellent, I walked across it and it was a good-scary thing but probably not for anyone afraid of heights, you can see way down the mineshaft.
