Found this monument, and it gives you the history of the the name of Plett. There is a viewing platform next to it that provides a great view. There are also a couple of benches to sit on. Not much else to say.

Went to this beacon as it was close to our b&b. A bit disappointed as the city isn't maintaining this well and also got a bit spooked by some homeless people in the bushland next to the lookout point. Nonetheless, still impressive that it has...More

Fun to read the short Dutch inscription of the beacon and think about Van Plettenberg standing there. Since there is a platform with a great view on the bay that's rather easy. The spot is well indicated by the Tripadvisor gps coordinates. It's in between...More

We couldn't find the beacon. It is not at the adress stated on tripadvisor. We drove around for ages,but couldn't find it.

The lady at Ocean Safaris told me about this view site. It is up the road from the main beach. The view is beautiful and there were no people there. The beacon is not very impressive but there is some historical info. You can look...More

It's a cool piece of history to see. I also enjoyed the view. It's has an awesome chill area to watch the the sunset 😚

This point marks the spot when the VOC claims the area for their own use with the simple fact of placing this beacon. There is also a nice view.

This is a great piece of history. Interesting to visit and has great views too! We often come here just to take in the beauty of Plettenberg Bay.
