A drive through this magnificent park is well worth it for anyone travelling to and from Clarens. It probably adds an extra 40 minutes onto your travelling time. But it is so worth it.

Drove through the park on our way to and from Clarens. There is no entrance fee, however it is recommended to give a donation. The road through the park is such a stunning route that snakes through the bushveld and up into the majestic mountains....More

The Golden Gate national park has large herds of especially Eland and Blesbok clearly visible from the road. The Sandstone formations are impressive, and the ever changing colours are something to behold.

There is no proper gate entry as it's on a public road, so you can drive through the park at any time. However, if you want to hike or picnic the San Parks Office is open Monday to Sunday.
