The shops lovely. The beggars who target tourists outside the shops are scary and demanding. I was holding my kids tightly and was uncomfortable.

It used to be a great place but is going downhill fast.Firstly you could get harassed by a drunk or drugged ``car guard'' and as you walk about there is a strong stench of urine and faeces.I will definitely never return,

SO cool. Melville is a must. The youngsters think it belongs to them, but they don't realise we invented it

Wanted to experience the container shopping layout ! Nice shops, food etc.... Must maintain the level in case some of the places close. Parking a bit dodgy and security not always around.

Melville was a great find after the predictability of Sandton's shopping malls. It is a strip shopping mix of cafes and boutique retailers. There is a new retail site (27 Boxes) built from shipping containers which is architecturally interesting. Great if you love Opp shops,...More

My husband and I stayed in Melville in a B & B Lucky Bean and we were most satisfied. Even though it is not a hotel, we would highly recommend this B & B. Transportation was easy with tuk tuk to visit around.
