I visited the gallery this week and I was swept away by WYE, Mikhael Zubotzky's film on three screens. The reflective surfaces, the sand and the beach chairs greatly contributed to the experience of viewing the work, which exacts a beehive of ideas and thoughts ... During our visit a television crew interviewed Nina Miall, the curator and her responses... More

This is a well regarded local art gallery known for spotting emerging talent. They have good exhibits from time to time. Complements Everard Read Gallery for a good sense of what's happening with investment grade and emerging investment grade artists.

We aren't specifically art lovers. Curiosity got the better of us and we visited the gallery. We are happy that we did. The art really was beautiful and the building itself was an artwork, interesting and different. Worth a visit, whether you are an art lover or n9t.

This gallery is very small and for us I am afraid the few works were 100% without merit. We were in and out within 5 minutes and rather disappointed. This gallery seems to be one for people with very 'avant garde' tastes.

The Goodman Gallery is architecturally interesting, well located with easily accessed free parking. It does not have permanent exhibitions but very worthwhile visiting from time to time for whatever is on show. The exhibition we visited required explanation which the owner was only to happy and keen to provide. Highly recommended as also it gives easy access by foot to... More

The Goodman Gallery is an institution (in an area where there are many galleries) and where William Kentridge launches his new exhibitions. They do not have a permanent collection on display, and whether or not you like it will depend on your view of the excellent exhibitions. Parking is safe and on the premises. You can even walk from here... More

Beautiful gallery with (sometimes) excellent exhibitions, sometimes really disappointing as it seems like they want to be "too experimental" and "cutting edge". Knowledgeable staff and a place to visit, even if it is only to say that you've been to the "Spear gallery"! Google "Spear" "Jacob Zuma" if you're not familiar!
