This is the most beautiful botanical garden I've ever seen. It's so much more than just flowers, although the plants are most unusual. It's ringed with mountains and is about 1000 acres, with a beautiful snaking bridge crossing the areas. I saw many plants I'd...More

This is the most beautiful botanical garden I've seen. Both the variety of plants and the setting on the side of a mountain are amazing. I will say that I wish the signs were a bit better, both for directions and for plant information.

In November the Botanical garden is full of flowers, especially the Fynbos varieties. On all the lawns large number of people, but it is not crowded at all. Even with a stroller it is possible to walk most of the paths. A fantastic half day.

Yes, we allow picnics in the Garden. You are welcome to bring your own food, or get a picnic hamper from the Kirstenbosch Tea Room or Moyo Restaurant. Picnic blankets are welcome, but we don't allow garden furniture.
