Groenkloof sits on the doorstep of the Pretoria CBD, yet when you are in the reserve you wouldn't think that you are actually in the city. Wildlife abounds. There are great hiking trails, cycling trails and very fun 4x4 trails.

Situated virtually two kilometers from the city centre it is well worth a visit to escape the rate race. We regularly hike the area and occasionally mountain bike a bit for some Sunday morning exercise. The animals such as giraffe, duikers, hartebeest etc add to...More

We did a great 16km trail run through the reserve. There were many hikers and a couple of other runners. The routes are well marked. We saw ostriches, kudu, impala and zebra. I can really recommend Groenkloof!

Great reserve to go have a picnic with the family or to go spend time with nature. The hiking routes are well marked and there is much to see as the reserve has wildlife. The view across to the Voortrekker museum is stunning.

With various length hiking trails for everyone, this is a beautiful reserve close to the city but allows you to feel secluded as well. Easily spotted zebra, giraffes and baby giraffes and a lot of other wildlife and birdlife.
