Last Sunday I went with 1st Zulu safaris to visit St Lucia and Hluwluwe park. In St. Lucia park we saw on a boat Hippo's but no crocodiles. The tour is 2 hours and for me too long. Hluwluwe is great. We saw a lot of animals, like girafffes, lions, elephants, rhino , monkeys and impala's. Thami our guide find... More

We booked a tour to the Zulu battlefields with 1st Zulu Safaris via Viator. Our guide was Thami who is a really lovely man. The drive to the battlefields from Durban is long and unfortunately it felt a lot longer as we were played an audio historical book about the background to the battles and battles themselves. Whilst this was... More

I booked a tour of Durban with 1st Zulu Safaris, and due to it being a weekday ended up having my own private tour which was great. I got to customize, throw out things I wasn't that interested in and spend more time doing things I liked. Christo was my guide, and it felt more like a drive around the... More

Hello Stormi Wow, thank you for the lovely review! It was lovely to spend the day with you. I was telling other tourists about you and how much you enjoyed the Botanical gardens. Your passion for the gardens was great to experience. Good luck with future travels and if you ever need help planing your next SA trip let me... More

We wanted to see some African animals, but didn't have the time or money to go all the way to Kruger National Park to do a "proper" safari. I stopped in the shop at Ushaka Marine World and booked a tour two days in advance. The mini safari was perfect for us. Our guide picked us up at our guest... More

We came upon 1st Zulu via referral from our Airbnb host. Despite our late request, they were very accommodating with getting us in for a half day tour up to Valley of a Thousand Hills. The in office ladies were very sweet and helpful. The driver was personable and shared some Zulu history with us along the way. Would def... More

I booked the day tour to Sani Pass and Lesotho on a last minute impulse. My tour guide was Thami in a 4x4 Range Rover Defender, we left Umhlanga at 6:30am, and came by before 7pm. The vehicle was in excellent shape and Thami is very competent on-road and off-road. Sani pass is definitely well worth the trip, especially stopping... More

A long , 14 hour , day trip to Isandlwana and Rorkes' Drift . Sotiris Spetsiotis was our driver and guide , and he helped make it a memorable trip . A great buffet meal at a lodge close to the battlefields was included . Being able to freely walk the sites was a fantastic experience that I found really... More

My friends and I went on a City Tour with Christo. He is an excellent guide. He was very knowledgeable of history and culture of the environment and the people. I would highly recommend using 1st Zulu Safaris.

My wife and I did Durban City Tour with 1000 Hills. Our tour guide Thaimi (forgive spelling) was awesome. We began in Durban and went out to the country for Zulu history performance, couple of scenic stops along the way, reptile sanctuary and concluded with multiple stops within the city (botanical gardens, harbour, city center, and aqua marine). There was... More

Our private shuttle from Durban to Manzini was extremely enjoyable. With plenty of space and comfortable seats came a driver/host who pointed out landmarks and fun facts along our journey. He also made stops as needed without a fuss. The service even packed us a snack bar and ice water. It was a lovely ride and appreciated hospitality!
