Beechwood is a great course, but does get a little windy at times. This has caused most the members to migrate to Durban country club. The beach wood course lies along the beach and is a links on the one side and has mangroves on the other side. This gives it a great character, but if you don't hit straight... More

Tried Beachwood as an alternative to Durban Country Club - we were not disappointed. Good test of golf and in excellent condition - we used a buggy but you could walk it without too much difficulty. Made to feel very welcome so we had to come back the next day and play it again. Well worth a visit if in... More

I liked the greens but the course itself is pretty ordinary. The bunkers are a delight play though. If you are playing the course for the first time, ensure you have a caddy to guide you

We went there for breakfast. The food is very well-priced, and fairly tasty, though a tad cold! The waiter was, however, very attentive and did his job well. All in all a pleasant experience.

Beachwood is the second course of the world renown Durban Country Club. Set in the quiet suburb of Durban North it adjoins the beach on one boundary and can prove difficult when the prevailing NE or SW winds blow. Extremely well maintained it is an evergreen home to a multitude of bird life and if you are lucky a sighting... More

This course runs amongst the dunes parallel to the sea. It is more testing than it seems with narrow fairways running between the indigenous bush. The winter greens were slick but true. There is a good pro shop and the clubhouse serves more than adequate fare. Great bar for hole in one celebrations - my partner had one on the... More

The course was great, quite tight, constant air traffic overhead due to the close proximity of a small airfield. Clubhouse and facilities were quite dated and in need of a spruce up, we booked trolleys but they only had one left that was in working order, the other three all had to have their bags tied on with the broken...
