Well worth a visit, as much for the scenery as for the animals, which are concentrated in the Auob and Nossob (dry) river valleys which roughly border the eastern and western sides of the park. We stayed at Bitterpan, excellent, but 4wd definitely needed. Not so for the principal roads running from/to Mata and Nossob. there is petrol/diesel at Mata... More

We have previously visited the Kruger National Park on several occasions, which we have always enjoyed. And just a week before visiting the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park we had spent three very enjoyable days in Namibia's Etosha National Park, where saw a lot of game. Both Kruger and Etosha are fantastic to visit, but Kgalagadi is in a league of its... More

A very special game reserve, great sightings of the cats. The quality of the accommodation was however very mixed and maintenance of the units was generally very poor. Most basins had loose taps, the very old units in Nassob are we understand to be replaced with new units ( they are terrible, don't ever stay in s middle unit (9B... More

Fewer guests, great facilities, and an abundance of wildlife, what's not to like? Our second visit. It will not be our last. We do recommend a high clearance vehicle for better sightings. While maybe not necessary for access on most roads inside the park, 4 wheel drive can be very useful in the real sandy areas. We only used ours... More

This place is true beauty. We drove around in a small Polo Vivo and we had no hassles. We saw gemsbok , lots of ostriches , antelopes , springbok , meerkats , impalas and jackals. You can drive by yourself , or book a early morning/early evening safari drive with a guide. The park opens early and closes at 19:30.... More

We only got two days time to visit the KTP and we didn't even stay insight the park. 07am is the earliest they let you in; so we managed to get up to Nossob on day 1 and to Mata Mata the very next day. We've had 3 lions, 9 cheetahs, some eagles, a lot of giraffes...and so on. Definitely... More

The Kgalagadi has a beauty that captures your heart. Sanddunes and open spaces with an abundance of the majestic Gemsbok (Oryx). We also had many lion sightings including a lion at water hole right by our camp, a cheetah sighting, hyena bathing in the water trough. Owls with their chicks, many birds. A fantastic week. The only negative was the... More

Great place to teach your grandchildren how to drive... If you aren't driving a 4-wheel drive vehicle don't go! Very pleasing to see the cooperation between Botswana, Namibia and South Africa!

Great family holiday destination! No 'electronic' distractions so wholesome 'downtime' in a special place with incredible scenery and sightings/encounters. Simple accommodation but all that you need.
