This place is true beauty. We drove around in a small Polo Vivo and we had no hassles. We saw gemsbok , lots of ostriches , antelopes , springbok , meerkats , impalas and jackals. You can drive by yourself , or book a early morning/early evening safari drive with a guide. The park opens early and closes at 19:30.... More

We only got two days time to visit the KTP and we didn't even stay insight the park. 07am is the earliest they let you in; so we managed to get up to Nossob on day 1 and to Mata Mata the very next day. We've had 3 lions, 9 cheetahs, some eagles, a lot of giraffes...and so on. Definitely... More

The Kgalagadi has a beauty that captures your heart. Sanddunes and open spaces with an abundance of the majestic Gemsbok (Oryx). We also had many lion sightings including a lion at water hole right by our camp, a cheetah sighting, hyena bathing in the water trough. Owls with their chicks, many birds. A fantastic week. The only negative was the... More

Great place to teach your grandchildren how to drive... If you aren't driving a 4-wheel drive vehicle don't go! Very pleasing to see the cooperation between Botswana, Namibia and South Africa!

Great family holiday destination! No 'electronic' distractions so wholesome 'downtime' in a special place with incredible scenery and sightings/encounters. Simple accommodation but all that you need.

or as often as possible? Try and You will see. You have to rent good car (SUV 4x4 the best, SUV 2x2 OK as well, normal small car not recommend), order before accommodation (do not hesitate, lodges, tents are soon occupied), take with a lot of drinking water, warm clothes (nights are cold), good lens (from wide to long, the... The Kgalagadi is one of the last reserves offering a real African bush/Kalahari experience. Since the accommodation is limited, so are the number of vehicles. The is plenty of game, many birds, raptors, predators. The Staff/guides/ranges are very professional, friendly and helpful. A place to unwind, enjoy nature and forget about civilisation/the city.

It was an unforgettable experience. We will go back tomorrow. Friendly staff at Twee rivieren gate. Nossop camp was great. We enjoyed the look out base at the water hole at night and saw the most magnificent lion one night and his roar was hair raising.

This is a vast park and we only explored a small part of the southern end, but the Kalahari is beautiful and peaceful, full of animals and a sense of the history of mankind. Visitors are well-advised to stay in their cars except at designated parking areas but it's easy to stop at any point and just watch the animals... More
