This lush valley basin was declared a reserve in 1961 and protects numerous antelope species and over two hundred documented bird species. Hikers of all skill levels enjoy short hikes, day hikes and overnight camping treks.

We saw many Oryx and enjoyed the scenic drive, the road is nicely maintained, but a shop with refreshments is needed

we didn't have too much time as we could spend maybe 3 do 4h (that allow as to see maybe 40% of the park _ MAX) we also have a regular car, which didn't allow to go via of road locations.. but still: crocodile, hippos,...More

Park personnel visible throughout from entrance to entering into the park itself had a good view at the animals and the large bird life, ablution facility s are clean and well looked after this was a nice quiet drive on a Sunday

We saw more and a greater variety of animals in the scope of two short drives in the Reserve, than we usually see during a whole week in the Kruger National Park.

rustenburg nature reserve is one of the many places in south africa where you can find plenty of wildlife. however, i would suggest you go to the near by pilannesburg park instead
