If you are interested in the history of Cape Town especially the 'Apatheid years', then a pilgrimage to St George's is a must. This church was the place of many meetings,services,protests and the clergy lead the struggle movement .

Famous for Desmond Tutu Archbishop of this diocese for eons, now in his last years on this planet, the cathedral is not beautiful, but impressive...and it has good acoustics...used for many public functions...

This is a must see while visiting Cape Town. The cathedral is breathtaking and it reminds you of a cathedral in Europe. One definitely have to experience the beauty of this remarkable holy place.
