If you come to Cape Town to party, then this is definitely the place to be. Walking up and down the street you are bombarded with so many options catering for every taste. Party animals should not miss the night life here!

We visited Long Street several times. During the day it is a distinctly interesting part of the City and generally safe. It has lots of interesting stores and boutiques. In the evenings, travel with a group and use taxis as traffic can be heavy and...More

The night life here keeps the city going. It never stops. Stop by at De beer to have some drinks and also check other pubs for good music, live band and smoke some shisha

This street is reasonably Ok during the day with plenty of bars/restaurants & shops. You have to take care of your possessions as we heard of a few muggings & bag snatches.

General rule of thumb, everything in CT closes at 7/8pm unless in the Waterfront. But long street bars and clubs are open till late.

Also agree with TravelfeetZA : i won't do shopping on this street. Keep a one hour walking to visit it and then have diner somewhere and some bar music. That's it! There is nothing special on this street for shopping.
