We used to go to the waterfront for lunch. It is not a huge place, but is pleasant, with a great variety of restaurants. Nice marina views, free parking (lots of spots). We spent a weekend in Knysna and it was never crowded.

The Knysna waterfront has a lot of shops and restaurants. Most are well priced unlike the ones at the Cape Town waterfront. There are boay tours available daily but booking is essential. Overall a great way to spend an afternoon or evening out.
