We went to the farm to do a wine tasting and were extremely disappointed in the service. The farm is beautiful and the tasting area and restaurant are stunning. Having chosen two different tasting options we were expecting a pleasant experience which we were accustomed to, having been to various farms in the past. Kelly, our waitress, was unfriendly, disingenuous... More

If you enjoy your wine, you shouldn't miss out on this one when you visit Stellenbosch/Cape Town. It is one of the bettert wines in the country. It can also be combined with food at their restaurant. A must for the the wine lover!

This is one of out favourite places in the area. Lunch menu has two choices - meat or fish coupled with their own wines. Quality is good and the setting is spectacular. The evening restaurant should be amongst the best but you owe it to yourself to get there during daylight not to miss the views.

Had a great afternoon lunch at Rust en Vrede, the service was exemplary. The steak perfectly cooked and the wine completed the experience. Always a good lunch venue

Although we failed to get a dinner reservation, lunch proved a great success. Food options are minimal, but rather good with some wine tasting. And you cannot go wrong with Mandela's favourite wine. It is worth walking around the estate.

This farm offers beautiful scenery and the option to sit downstairs in the cellar, in the lunch area or outside during the week. The menu, during the week, offers a choice between salmon and sirloin with the focus on wine tasting and sharing the history of the farm. As a solo traveller I left with the impression that the team... More

Absolutely the best winery in South Africa! Their wines are exceptional, and so is the service and the whole place (very beautiful). The restaurant is worth praise. Rust en Vrede are red wines but they have a sister vinefarm called Donkiesbaai - their their white as well
