This is a museum combined with Fort. A small but very well preserved museum. It is well maintained and gives a small glimpse into the history of Arabs in UAQ in olden times. Just next to this museum there is archeological museum also free of entry. It is an artifact display contains historical coins, pottery even a skeleton etc. and... More

I guess this is ranked number 2 since there isn't really anything else to boast about around there. This is just one of those over hyped places.

Visited here and went aqll around. Surrounded by old cannons and second-hand British Armoured Vehicles outside, muskets and Lee-Enfields inside. Amazed by how cool it was even withot air-con; had to push the staff to accept a donation for some free Tourism Ministry postcards. Some good mock-ups of pearling boats in the courtyard, plenty of info on the history and... More

Very quiet and beautiful beach. Only a few Europeans were in the beach. You can occupy the beach like private beach. From Dubai, you can use public bus. But, for returning to Dubai, you can not catch the bus. you have to use taxi.

A very clean, well presented potted history of Umm al Qawain and the UAE. Restored a few years ago, the fort is very well maintained, and still has an authentic feel. Most of the )air-conditioned) rooms have different themes for what is on display in them-a market, jewellery, weapons, docuuments and so on. Staff very pleasant and helpul.

This place was the residence of the Sheikh of Umm AL Quwain. It was also a fort and was protecting them from any outside attacks. There is even a small prison inside. According to UAE locals Umm Al Quwainies were the most fighters amongst all Emirates. Worth a visit, because not many historical things in UAE, also don't miss its... More
