While this wasn't the best food we had in BA, it was by far the best dining experience. The food is good. Go for the ambiance. We went around 9p for dinner and had an amazing time. There's a bookstore in the middle of the restaurant that carries titles in both English and Spanish. I loved browsing while waiting for our... Perfect place for music lovers. Cosy, exclusive, romantic and charming atmosphere. Good food, specially the tapas. Don't go there if you're looking for a touristic, broadway-style night. Been there several times, and always leave looking foward the next one. Once the place is very small and intimist, it's recommended to make a reservation on weekends.

My sister and I stumbled upon this place on our first night in Buenos Aires as we were searching for dinner. I'm a bit of a bibliophile so was immediately captured by all the books. Our waiter was very helpful despite our ineptness in Spanish. He recommended and brought us an excellent Malbec :) The food was rather pricey, which... More

The title of my review sums it up... Shows here for the 'big names' can be very expensive (and on more than one occasion one of these 'big names' for which tickets were expensive could be seen free of charge at another nearby venue such as the excellent Casa del Bicentenario on Riobamba), and if tickets seem more reasonably priced... It is a library, but as you enter in, you don't see the books... You see the tables, the cafe, and the bar... In the end of the room, there are another space with the books... We went there at night, had a nice dinner, with a good price, and watch a show of two old and famous argentinian singers... More

I've been visiting BA for 6 years now, and this time a friend introduced me to this local institution. The restaurant includes an art gallery and bookshop and is located in an area with many universities, so it draws on the professional staffs/faculties of them. Wonderful welcoming ambiance and graceful service are a highlight as is the pianist performing in... More

Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
