To understand Buenos Aires, you must taste the tango! Have a complete Tango Experience by booking a private class. They can also take you to a milonga (social tango dance salon) filled with locals dancing the real tango of Buenos Aires. Ruben also does taxi dancing with 1-5 women at a time, so that they can experience and be introduced in the milongas. (No tango show style) Beginners welcome and no partner is necessary. Classes are in English and Spanish. Ruben will teach you the basic principles of the dance and the unwritten codigos of the milonga. He doesn't teach patterns or steps, but tango based on the music, embrace, connection, improvisation, sensuality, and elegance. Private lessons and group classes by request.

We had a 30 minute tango lesson upstairs in this Milonguero. The instructors were accomplished dancers, and the lesson was easily absorbed. (though the tango is certainly more complex than the simple 8 step pattern). We also watched recreational tango dancing by locals in the...More

It makes me sad, but Cherie is no longer living in Buenos Aires. She had moved to Los Angeles to watch her grandsons grow up. She was my best friend in Buenos Aires and I will miss her so much. As so many will.More

While it's true that indeed I no longer live in Buenos Aires, Ruben still teaches his amazing classes and does fantastic, professional taxi dancing in the milongas for ladies who wish to kick-start their dance experience in the tango capital of the world. I am...More

As you can see, Ruben is not in need of another rave review. And anyone who knows me is tired of my incessant, gushing narratives about tango class. But, just for the record, tango is awesome. Ruben is a born teacher (not to mention dancer)....More

After much deliberation we decided not to have any lessons with Cherie and Ruben (my mum and I are not dancers!) but wanted to see an authentic milonga, so this is what we arranged with them. The milonga was packed, on a Monday night too,...More
