Growing larger over the years, Parque de los Niños is an odd green space by the river, suitable for those who want to get a bit afar from the concrete and the hustle of the city. Better during weekdays (if your time allows) to avoid those weekend crowds.

Big area close to the river - nice, sunny (yet HOT in Summer!) and very easy to get to. There are soccer fields, bike paths, and other attractions e.g., gym classes offered by the hour.

It's a good place but just that. If you have nothing else to do, then go. Furthermore, it's not exactly close to the main tourist area. You can go if you are planning to visit the former concentration camp of ESMA, and then go to this place, which is very close.

Nice park with a wonderful river view. Between the north area of Buenos Aires City and Vicente Lopez district, crossing the General Paz high way, you can enjoy the river view in an public open area.

The place was built in the late 40's or early 50's and you can tell. My son loves trains so we rode it, its falling apart literally. The whole park needs repairs, the country has tons of cool things but instead of fixing them for the people to enjoy they waste money on everything but something the people enjoy.

We rented city bikes from La Bicicleta Naranja, just a few blocks from where we were staying in San Telmo, and it was a short ride through the city to Costanera. What a breath of fresh air! Nice dirt road, greenery and sea birds, and we even saw a turtle laying eggs. Plenty of people were out running, it's one... More

On a hot summer day sometimes an escape from the heat of the city of Buenos Aires and the traditional tourist attractions can be a welcome relief. A short twenty minute train ride from the Retiro station will take you to the Barrio of Vicente Lopez and the expansive coastal parkland and beaches including the Children's Park. Some of the... Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
