Absolutely recommend this to other travelers who think the best way to see a city is to experience the waterways and see the city from the water. There's nothing like it. Making arrangements was so simple. Javier was responsive right away and lined us up with a fantastic captain: captain Herman ( transliteration ). Herman met is on time and... More

This is an intimate, smooth sailing experience. Intimate because there are no more than six passengers. Smooth because the river was flat even when windy. The boat is in fine condition. The captain was friendly and accommodating. Relaxing because there is not any noise from the engine (but there is one if needed). Go in the afternoon and be treated... More

I went on a boat trip with Javier on a very hot and sunny afternoon. It was a relief to leave the bustle of the city behind as the boat drifted away from the Puerto Madero pier. It was quiet, with little wind, and we sailed away calmly. After a short while we were engulfed by the peace and immensity... More

Our adventure with City Sailing in the Argentinian delta north of Buenos Aires was one of the highlights of our trip to the area. Agustin was so accommodating and passionate about the tour - it was like enjoying a late afternoon boat ride with one of your closest friends! This is a must see and must do adventure for anyone... This was a phenomenal experience during our stay in BA. Javier and his staff were extremely friendly, professional, and fun. We were a group of 7 and had a fantastic afternoon sailing on the Rio de la Plata. After a week of city exploration, this was the perfect relaxing afternoon. I highly recommend it!

Had a great time sailing on the Rio de la Plata with City Sailing BA, learning about the history of this vibrant city from a unique vantage point. We really lucked out with the weather with blue skies, just the right amount of wind, and a beautiful sunset as we returned back to the docks. The snacks and drinks were... More

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
