If we were under 40, we would have loved it. But we are youthful 60's and didn't appreciate the vibe. Regardless of age, it's fun to walk around but we probably won't go back.

We were lucky enough to get around New Year's. Although to hotel fabulous top deck. Sadly the breakfast was all the same . The staff was more than accommodating. The location was very good. We would stay there for a few nights again.

I recently had a vacation rental right in the center of Palermo Soho for five weeks. Since I was there in February and March there were many sales at the shops (50-60%) since they were moving from summer to fall merchandise but even after taking the discount the clothing is expensive. But the clothing is top notch so some people... More

This area has everything you could want for a good time. There are lots of hotels, shops, restaurants, bars, wine tastings, milongas, and friendly people. We felt safe at all hours of the day and night.

This is an interesting area for shopping in the kind of small one-off boutique type places. Also a very buzzy nightlife - it's got even more popular over the last few years - so it has a good selection of restaurants for a nice evening meal indoors or outside in warmer weather.

Take a taxi to the main square then walk and explore the many bars and restaurants. There are also many beer parlors, and street art to browse through.

....in Buenos Aires then this is the area for you. It is quieter than downtown with low rise buildings but it has its own buzz with lots of excellent bars and restaurants. There is a large student population here but as retirees we never felt out of place and enjoyed the ambience of the place. It is quiet by day... More

Staying in Palermo

Neighbourhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favourite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
