We were looking forward to our visit to one of the world's most famous opera houses and at the ticket office persuaded the guy to allow us both on the next tour despite, officially, there being only one place left. We were not told that on stage lighting tests were taking place all that day so that the auditorium was in... More

we were lucky and timed our visit for an english speaking tour. They take you around and explain the beautiful features on the ceiling stairs walls etc. Then you are invited into the theater itself . It is as we were told the third best opera house in the world, and is acoustically supposed to one of the best for... More

An early 20th centenary theatre embracing many European architectural styles of the period The guided tour is informative & the ideal, if not better, way to see the theatre than attending a show

Tonight my wife and myself entered wonderland. The opera Adrienne Lecouvreur in the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires . First of all the building: incredibly beautiful, full of grandeur - resembling the palais Garnier in Paris. So unexpected -for me - in South America 😅 And the opera the cast the decor everything- we were like in a dream....

Do not miss. One of top three opera houses in world. Tours from 9-5 unless there is an opera. You can buy tour tickets on line, which will insure that you do not show up and get turned away.

Our hotel was walking distance from Teatro Colon, so we decided to walk there on a day when our day wasn't planned. Spontaneously we bought some tickets to an opera and a symphony. It was ridiculously cheap. The theater is so beautiful inside. The elegant architecture takes your breath away. You can really feel the European influence in this South... More

The theatre is probably one of the grandest theatres in the world and only one of three in the world that makes all the costumes used on site. You can take a tour in either English or Spanish. Our tour was taken surprisingly in English by a wonderful young lady with a great sense of humour who brought the whole... More

I went on my own and walked in to find that an 50 minute English tour was in about 5 minutes. The tour took us through the entry way, balcony and a box where if you are lucky you can see the musicians practicing. For my group it was the lighting people, which was still a great experience. The architecture... More

This beautifully restored opera house has English tours daily. I think the season starts in April, but there was a performance a few days after we visited, so they were testing the lights when we arrived. The tour group entered the box and sat for a while, when suddenly, the orchestra started practicing. They quickly rushed us out of the... More
